Hamid Taheri was born in 1988. He is an Iranian screenwriter and director. He has a BA in English Literature and an M.A in film from Tehran university. He has directed two acclaimed short films, Matilda (2018) and Sara (2010), and just completed his feature debut The Lower Ground (2021). He has written five TV series for Iranian national TV. The most acclaimed of his TV series is Dar Jostojoie Aramesh which gained him and and his co-writers a Hafiz, the most prestigious TV award of Iran, nomination. He has also been a film critic and translator in Iranian publications. His most important translation is Film/Genre by Rick Altman.
