Guillermo Rivera is a screenwriter, director and journalist. His first feature-length script, "Daughter," won the national competition held by the Guanajuato International Film Festival in 2023.
In early 2024, he filmed his first short film, "Separation". His short script, "Natividad," currently in pre-production, received a mention at the 2024 Mexico International Short Film Festival, where he received post-production support.
He studied Communication Sciences and Latin American Studies at UNAM and the Screenwriting Course at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica.
He has taken directing and screenwriting workshops at director Michael Rowe's Traveling Film School.
As a journalist, he has worked in various print and television media. He has been recognized twice with the National Journalism Award, in 2016 and 2023. He was nominated for the Gabo Award in 2023.
