Gugun Arief is Indonesian filmmaker. He was born at April, 20th 1981 in Wlingi, Blitar, East Java. A self-taught filmmaker, he is making films since 2005, got serious since 2014 (formerly under name Gugun Ekalaya). He wrote story and directed some short movies that screened in some local film festivals. Gugun mostly works with a small crew using semi-guerrilla filmmaking technique. He also built a film community in his hometown to educate more people about filmmaking and cinema literacy.
