Gregory G. Allen has been writing since his first musical was produced at 14 years old. His short film Mother which he wrote, produced, and directed won numerous awards at film festivals around the country including Best Director at Boston International Film Festival and Los Angeles International Film Festival and a 2015 Remi Award from WorldFest-Houston. In 2019, his film Hiding in Daylight which he wrote and co-produced, was one of 29 films chosen to screen at the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, won best screenplay at Reel East Texas Film Festival, won Best Drama Short at QueerX, a special jury recognition at Global Impact, audience award for Best in show at Wicked Queer in Boston, and 3 IndieFEST awards for direction, writing, and Best LGBTQ Film. His screenplay He is Gone was an official selection in the 2019 Beverly Hills Film Festival. In 2020 (during the pandemic) his film Reparations which he wrote & directed played several festivals even during that terrible year. It was accepted into the Emerging Filmmakers Showcase at the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival and won Best Director at the Vancouver Independent Film Festival as well as several others.
