At Greenwood Film Festival, the mission is to use film to tell the truth. It's black people in a new light or exposing the ills of our community for growth. Films that explore the depths of our experience, speak truth to power, make us laugh and empower. GFF is a premiere black film festival where pioneers are showcased.

Please submit a film that does just this. Whether it's an obscure topic or a fresh way to film, we would love to view and potentially screen your film!

Our festival desires encourage collaboration amongst creatives & visionaries towards ownership, building up the black presence in the Tulsa film community. Built on 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀔𐀏 (Yahusha), the Living Word, GFF screens films & leads discussions that tackle issues within the black community in a relatable manner that inspires people to search for the Truth.

The festival invites audiences to experience a shared space of ideas, giving way for creative minds to flow freely. By sharing black stories with each other and with the world, GFF encourages everyone to learn continually, to live boldly, and to love generously.

Overall Rating
  • Law and our "Catharsis" family are truly honored and humbled to be a part of GFF. Festival founder Dennis Delemar and his team of curators are the most innovative, gracious, kind, talented, skillful, patient, and fun hosts around. I am personally extremely grateful to have represented from Brooklyn, NY at the lovely Circle Cinema in Tulsa for the festival events. May I also add that we were pleasantly surprised to be among the caliber of talent for nominations, receiving an Outstanding Performance award. Cheers to shooting for the moon, thriving, and being among the stars!

    Most sincerely,

Thank you for your review and kind words Genia and team!! Your Outstanding Performance Award in "Catharsis" was well deserved. You brought out the voice of many black mothers. Genia, Lawrence and team, keep producing stories that change the narrative and push the culture forward!

It was a privilege to attend the inaugural Greenwood Film Festival. The event ran smoothly, the panels provided gave great insight into the film industry from many angles, and overall provided a great space for up and coming filmmakers to display their work. Not to mention it’s premium location in Tulsa, OK. I look forward to returning to future Greenwood Film Festivals in the years ahead!
