Film-maker, visual artist, writer, critic and editor from Middlesbrough. I make work with a focus on community and how the worlds of mythology and the imagination intersect with ostensibly mundane environments - call it social surrealism, I guess. My most recent project is as part of the group exhibition A Sense of Place at Scarborough's Woodend Gallery, where I contributed video, sound and installation pieces.
Before that, I co-directed Where the Stone Dropped, a documentary about the communities on a man-made peninsula off the coast of Redcar, with Ian Paine. My first solo project was The Commons, a mixture of drama, documentary and dance about the history and folklore behind common land. I also make music videos and record events.
