Grace Uther is an award-winning filmmaker known for bold female-led storytelling. THEY KILL BY NIGHT, a short thriller she produced, co-wrote and co-directed with partner Sam Uther, is premiering at CinéfestOZ. Grace previously wrote and directed short thriller NINETEEN NINETY NINE, which screened at festivals globally, winning Best International Director at Austin After Dark. Her documentary about provocative performers Polytoxic, DEMOLITION: Staging a Protest, screened at Brisbane International Film Festival and streamed on The Cultch. Grace won a Matilda Award for her work on acclaimed stage production BATSHIT, and directed The Brothers’ Book Club for ABC iView produced through the Screen Queensland Factual Initiative.
Grace grew up in Sydney and the UK, and is now based in Queensland with her partner, storyboard artist Sam Uther.
