Habiba Gicheru is a creative producer and skilled coordinator with a background in documentary filmmaking.
An alumna of Some Fine Day Pix 2021, she has worked across narrative, documentary, and commercial projects, bringing a strong vision to African storytelling. Passionate about crafting authentic African stories, she blends real-life experiences with narrative depth.
Habiba continues to grow her producing expertise through collaborative development labs and storytelling initiatives. Her documentary work includes contributions to The Battle For Laikipia (Sundance 2024), Run For Your Life (Bloomberg Investigates 2023), and scripted podcasts such as After The Credits Roll (inspired by I Am Samuel) and Essays. She has also produced short films including Stero and Inheritance, as well as Tukisonga, a podcast on sexual and reproductive health and rights.
As an emerging creative producer with a focus on female-led stories, culture, social justice, and African identity, she has led projects such as Iron Fist, which explores female resilience and transformation; Goat, which examines women within cultural heritage; and Fragments, a photography exhibition celebrating a decade of filming in Nairobi.
