Hosted by Students from the Asian Student Association at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, the Global Cultural Film Festival is a vast and inclusive celebration of stories that reflect the richness of global cultures and communities. We invite filmmakers from around the world to submit films that explore identity, heritage, diaspora, tradition, and the many intersections of lived experiences.

We are a sister film festival under the well-renowned Orlando International Film Festival, directed by Dr. Florence Alexander.

Our festival is dedicated to uplifting voices often underrepresented in mainstream media, highlighting narratives from Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous, Middle Eastern, and other diverse communities. Whether your film is a deeply personal story, a bold cultural critique, or a creative reimagining of tradition, we want to see it on our screen.

This in-person festival, held on the vibrant UCF campus in Orlando, provides a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to connect with enthusiastic audiences, student organizations, and local cultural leaders. Selected films will be screened in a theater setting, with opportunities for Q&As, networking, and recognition through our curated award categories.

An awards ceremony will take place in UCF's Pegasus Ballroom on November 8th, 2026, where GCFF will distribute and recognize all selected films and award winners.

I am the first person to write a review for this festival, and this experience has been both strange and very exciting for me. At first, they helped me solve my registration problem, and then I received the first prize for my screenplay. The festival’s emails, containing information about the judging process, invitations to the ceremonies, and exact dates, were sent to me regularly and accurately. I hope this level of organization and professionalism continues. Thank you, and I hope you continue to shine!
