Gio Ferraro has 20 years of homeless advocacy work under her belt, but also lost her father while he was experiencing homelessness. This film comes from the realness of being unhoused that perpetuates judgement especially how the news portrays this crisis. Gio has a background that is diverse from being a firefighter, a high school teacher to more recently closing down her small business gym due to the pandemic. In 2020 after Gio had to shut her gym doors, she pivoted and started writing. Eventually she wrote and produced her first ever short film, "LENNON" in ten months time. Gio's eyes witnessed the devastation of this pandemic more than ever. She stepped up to tell the story truthfully to counter misinformation being told in the media. Simply put, Lennon is human just like you and me. It is now time to set the story straight... it begins with compassion. BE A LENNON!
