Gavrilo Gnatovich, "Gav", began his career in a bakery and a small studio in the Odd Fellows Hall in Natick, Massachusetts in the early 80's. After graduating with a painting degree from Boston University and several chance beer enhanced meetings in Chicago with animation great Richard Williams, Gav became fascinated with animation, a perfect marriage of his interest in both painting, acting and photography. Realizing that he was not hirable in any facet of the animation industry, Gav decided to make a short film.
Working in at Quebrada bakery in Wellesley from 2am until 7am and then scooting over to his studio, Gav began the process of teaching himself how to animate while working in his first independent animated short, "Lazar". After six and a half years and throwing the entire first year's work in a dumpster, "Lazar" was complete and Gav's animation career began.
