My name is Gaspare Damanti, I’m 26 years old and I’m Italian.
I don’t speak English very well, so please forgive me if this translation is not perfect.
After finishing school and working for six years in a factory, I decided to follow my dream, my instinct, and my destiny.
Today I have completed my acting studies — one year in Florence and two years at “HT STUDIO” in Rome, directed by Patrizia De Santis, the first teacher in Italy officially certified by Ivana Chubbuck to teach the Chubbuck Technique.
During my two years in Rome, in the summer of 2024, I started writing my first screenplay, which I finished three months later, titled “The Sound of Silence.”
It’s a feature film that speaks about the power of dreams and how they can guide our lives — if we are willing to accept our shadow.
I uploaded the screenplay here on FilmFreeway, and it immediately received great recognition, winning several of the most prestigious festivals on the platform (in the screenplay category), including Cannes, Hollywood, Chicago, and Hong Kong.
I have just completed filming my first short film, created to secure funding for the production of the feature.
The short film was adapted to convey the same meaning as the movie I wish to make, and therefore shares the same title: “The Sound of Silence.”
I have never studied directing or screenwriting, but I have a deep cinematic culture — and, as I said, I follow my instinct.
I am very, very hungry. I’m not in a hurry to arrive, nor to do things carelessly.
I’m introverted, humble, and charismatic.
I’ll leave you with two phrases: one is the message of my film, the other is from one of the greatest minds who ever lived.
“Dreams are the keys that open our unconscious, allowing us to guide our lives.” G. Damanti
“Make your unconscious conscious, otherwise it will direct your life and you will call it destiny.” C. G. Jung
See you soon.
I’m on my way.
