Gabriela Garcia Medina is a Cuban-American-British filmmaker. Her short film LITTLE CON LILI (2018) won Best of Fest at HBO Women in Comedy Festival (2019), Best Short Contest with NBC (2019), won the LALIFF/FOTOKEM Post-Production award (2019), was nominated for Best Short Comedy at the Palm Springs ShortFest (2020), and currently available on HBO Max. Gabriela’s short film THE 90 DAY PLAN (2019), won Best of Fest at HBO Women in Comedy Festival 2020 (Powderkeg/Feigco award), official selection at LAAPFF (2020), and is available on HBO Max. Gabriela's feature UN DREAM DE MEDIO SUMMER is in development with Marc Platt Productions, and MACRO, and her feature film LITTLE CON LILI sold to NETFLIX and is a co-production between Netflix Studios, Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions, and Mandalay Pictures. Gabriela just wrapped production on her short film BERTIE THE BRILLIANT (in collaboration with WarnerMedia's OneFifty). Gabriela was a Director mentee on Season 2 of Hulu's THE GREAT (2021). She is a 2020 Film Independent Directing Lab Fellow, and a 2016 Hedgebrook Screenwriting Lab Fellow. Gabriela received her BFA from UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television (2005) with a major in Theater and a double minor in Chicano/a Studies and African American Studies; and she received a dual MFA from Calarts (2015) with a Masters in Acting, and Writing. Gabriela is repped by Jairo Alvarado (Redefine Entertainment) and Valarie Phillips (A3 Artists Agency).
