Fumitaka Otoguro is a seasoned actor and producer with over 25 years of experience in stage, film, and television. A graduate of Osaka University of Arts, he gained national recognition for his role in the acclaimed drama Ikebukuro West Gate Park and has appeared in over 120 productions.
In 2024, Otoguro took on the roles of producer, lead actor, and concept creator for the psychological horror-fantasy film TOKYO STRANGE TALE (僕を呼ぶ声), directed by Koichi Ueno. The film combines traditional Japanese storytelling with futuristic elements, exploring themes of isolation, perception, and humanity’s relationship with technology. TOKYO STRANGE TALE is currently being submitted to prestigious international film festivals, showcasing Otoguro’s ambition to bring uniquely Japanese narratives to global audiences.
In addition to his work on TOKYO STRANGE TALE, Otoguro has produced and directed several short films, including The Tea Cups and The Last Astronaut on Earth. His creative vision lies in blending personal experiences with universal themes, creating emotionally resonant and innovative works.
