The Montevideo International Fulldome Festival is Uruguay's first festival dedicated to immersive audiovisual art in a planetarium. Featuring a curated selection of contemporary artworks from around the world, the festival highlights the creativity and innovation of artists, with emphasis on Latin American talents.
The festival is held at the historic ‘Agr. Germán Barbato’ Planetarium in Montevideo. Recently renovated, it features cutting-edge video technology and immersive spatial sound.

Rules & Terms

SUBMISSION
Only completed submission forms can be processed and considered for festival presentation.
Complete the online submission form including:
A low-resolution version of the video.
A link to download your video in resolution 2048x2048px. (Final high-resolution files will only be requested of the selected artists.)
3 to 5 still images of the artwork.
1-3 portrait photos of the artist or collective
Synopsis.
Artist biography.
Website sites and social media links.
Credits.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to artists and collectives worldwide. No age restriction.
All artworks must be produced for the fulldome format. Flat-screen adaptations cannot be accepted.
The maximum length is 15 minutes.
Artworks must be created after January 2022.
All animation and cinematographic styles are accepted.
Multiple projects can be submitted.
The submitter must hold the rights to the video and sound.
If your work involves AI generated content, it must be declared.
Work-in-progress artworks are not accepted.
The artworks must be submitted through the Film Freeway platform.

    Grateful to have been a part of the very first Montevideo FullDome Festival.

    As an artist, seeing my work translated into a 360° immersive environment is a transformative experience, but seeing it hosted at Planetario germán Barbaro, a place that defined our childhood, was truly iconic!

    Huge thanks to the organizers for being so kind and mindful of every detail, from the screenings to the workshops and talks.

    Participar en el Festival Fulldome de Montevideo fue una experiencia realmente encantadora. Desde el primer momento se percibió una organización muy cuidada y una calidez humana que hizo que todo fluyera de manera natural.

    Se generaron espacios de intercambio muy valiosos entre artistas, con charlas enriquecedoras, talleres, y también con devoluciones del público que aportaron mucho a cada obra. La convocatoria fue excelente: había mucha gente, todas las funciones agotadas, lo que demuestra el interés creciente por este tipo de experiencias inmersivas.

    En lo personal, además de la selección, recibí el premio a Mejor Artista Emergente, algo que me sorprendió profundamente y por lo que estoy muy agradecida y emocionada. Es muy significativo que un país hermano como Uruguay también reconozca y apoye a artistas de Argentina.

    Siento que están construyendo algo muy importante y pionero dentro de la escena fulldome en Uruguay. Ojalá este sea el inicio de muchos festivales más. Felicitaciones por el gran gran trabajo a Leti, Mati y Lea, a todo el jurado, a todes les artistas, al público, a Oscar del planetario, al resto de organizadores y sponsors, y de nuevo muchas gracias por generar y hacer posible este espacio.
