FriedFest is a one-night short film festival in New York City. Three hours. No intermission. No Q&As. No schedule released in advance.

The lineup is curated, not programmed by committee. Films are selected for what they do to the audience, formally, emotionally, neurologically within a composition. The program is designed to be experienced as a continuous whole.

The screening takes place Friday, January 15, 2027 at The Rat NYC. Doors at 7:30 PM.

This is not an industry event. There are no panels, no networking, no awards ceremony. It is a film festival in the most literal sense: a room, an audience, and films.

The Golden Yolk. A cash prize awarded to one film by audience vote on the night of the screening. Amount: $100.

There are no other awards.

Films must be under 41 minutes. Work in progress is acceptable if picture is locked. All genres considered. Filmmakers will be notified of selection but the lineup will not be made public prior to the event.
