The first UK-wide festival where film and music meet, featuring digital content created by young people aged 16 to 25. Whether emerging or established, the festival empowers young independent filmmakers, producers, and musicians to tell their stories, no matter who or where they are.  

The first edition of the Frequencies Music Video festival will take place on Friday 19th April 2024. Where all shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend.

Bringing together a national network of partners committed to celebrating creativity, the festival showcases future talent with an award ceremony, film screenings, workshops and inspirational panel discussions.  

The winning creatives will receive various prizes, including cash rewards, equipment and/or software. 

Submissions open on Wednesday 6th December 2023 - close on Monday 22nd January 2023, 12noon.

The festival showcases content young people aged 16-25 from all over the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales). You must be a UK permanent citizen at the time of applying.

The festival is open to short music video films of all formats and genres including animation/VR, live action and documentary.

By submitting, applicants confirm that they possess all rights necessary to screen at the Rising Music Video Festival, including copyrights to moving or still images and music. All films and content submitted may be kept for internal reporting purposes.

The maximum duration of the film should not exceed 40-minutes (including credits)

Applicants do not need to have previously released content or credits/awards to apply. Films that have been submitted or been awarded at other festivals are still eligible to apply.

Groups and individuals are eligible to apply.

If the music video is not in English, the submitted works must include subtitles.
