Franz Böhm was born in 1999 and grew up in Stuttgart, Germany. After the death of his father in 2011, he fled from reality into watching films. At the age of 13, he decided to make films on his own. Two weeks later, he joined his first film set as a Set-Runner by stating that he is already 16. He worked his way up from Set-Runner to Set-Manager to Location Manager and 1.AD on student and commercial sets. At the age of 16, he made his first own film "Harmonie der Anderen", which was nominated for the BW Youth Film Award and screened at festivals in Rome, Berlin and Barcelona. As preparation for his crowdfunded, documentary project "Christmas Wishes", he travelled to Berlin in December 2016 and lived one week with homeless young people. After that, he picturised two true stories of young homeless people. The film was selected as the opening film for the BW Youth Film Awards.
After two internships in Berlin, Franz started working on "Good Luck" in January 2018.
