Frank Hays, director, screenwriter, and actor, was born in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1961. Frank is married to his long-time partner. They have two children, and they live in Washington state.
Frank was selected as a finalist in the Nicholl Fellowship contest in 2019 with his script La Famiglia (The Family). His latest, and most bestowed screenplay, Vincent and Paul: Unspoken Brotherhood, is a dramatized account of the tumultuous, homosexual relationship between Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. His other scripts include The Apparition, Circus Animals, and Browne’s Addition, an episodic series that explores the lives of a group of gay friends.
Frank’s documentaries include The Lyons: A Real Family and Journey of Love: Learning to Forgive. His documentaries have screened throughout the United States at multiple film festivals.
