Filmmaker from Chile based in Mexico City
Fran López is a Chilean filmmaker. She studied acting at the Pontifical Catholic University and an MFA in Film at Syracuse University.
López’s work consists of stop-motion animation and live action films. Her practice is based in questioning the boundaries between reality and fiction. In 2016 she directed "Life after water", an animated short film. In 2017, she won an honorable mention at CortosLab with the project "the unicorns of the apocalypse" and a place to participate in ViñaLab with her script "the world's saddest whale". In 2019 she shot the short film "The Sea Squirrel". She has worked in several projects as producer, production designer, animator, editor, scriptwriter and director in Chile and USA.
Currently based in Mexico City.
