Theme: Powerlessness

To participate, filmmakers should create a captivating short film of under 5 minutes that addresses the theme in a meaningful way.

Filmmakers of all backgrounds and experiences can submit their short films for Frame Five, an exciting competition dedicated to exploring the theme of powerlessness. We welcome films in any genre, including but not limited to:

Drama
Documentary
Fiction
Animation
Comedy
Sci-Fi
Horror
Other

Submission Guidelines:

Connection to Powerlessness: Filmmakers are required to provide a brief explanation of how their film relates to the theme of powerlessness. This could involve personal experiences, societal issues, or imaginative storytelling that reflects the struggles and challenges associated with feeling powerless.

Creative Expression: We encourage originality and diverse interpretations of the theme, allowing for a wide range of artistic expressions.

Language: We accept films in English, Hungarian, German, Slovakian, Croatian, Serbian, Ukrainian, and Romanian. If your film is in a language other than English, it should have English subtitles.

Geographical area: Filmmakers should be willing to travel to Budapest for the final event at their own expense. We encourage local (Hungarian) and regional (Austrian, Slovakian, Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian, Romanian, Ukrainian) filmmakers to submit their films.
