Because the Studio is "forest-based", it primarily presents Polish forests, their biological diversity, species and habitat protection, tourist attractiveness, but also the wildest areas, where human footsteps rarely leave a trace.
From the beginning of its existence, officially since 1988, the Forest Film Studio was one of the facilities of the Centre for Development and Implementation of the State Forests. It took over the legacy of the Video-Film Department, operating since the late 1960s, and dealing mainly with film documentation of forestry work and mechanization in forestry. The breakthrough moment was the purchase of a BetaCam camera in 1997, which enabled professional film production. It was even lent to the Łódź Film School and television. In addition to instructional films for foresters, nature films also began to be created at that time.
The films made by the Studio were and are broadcast on television,
in public and commercial stations, nationwide and regional. They are available worldwide through TVP Polonia and TVP World, as well as during festival screenings in various countries and the English-language Forest Film Studio channel on YouTube.
The team consists of professionals with extensive knowledge of forestry
and nature, as well as in the field of film and photography. They are enthusiasts who like what they do, and because of this, the effects of their work are also liked and appreciated by viewers.
