The Flux screening series brings together the creative community to celebrate outstanding short films and music videos from around the globe with wildly inventive filmmaker presentations and performances.

The acclaimed event, running since 2008, is part of the Hammer Museum's free public program series. Flux happens seasonally, three times a year, at the museum's Billy Wilder Theater, one of Los Angeles' most beautiful cinemas.

Past guests have included Michel Gondry, Floria Sigismondi, OK Go, Andreas Nilsson, Hiro Murai, Kyle Cooper, Shepard Fairey, Kirsten Lepore, Encyclopedia Pictura, Miwa Matreyek, Nabil, Jessica Sanders, Martin de Thurah, the Daniels, Ryan Heffington, Chris Milk, Cat Solen, Aaron Rose, Casey Neistat, Carlos Lopez Estrada, Mia Doi Todd, Dugan O'Neal, Keith Schofield among many others.

The Flux Screening Series is non-competitive. It is a unique event that brings together the creative community to celebrate amazing short form films on a huge movie screen. The audience is as cool as our filmmakers, filled with fellow directors, visual artists, musicians, designers and more than a few talent scouts. Careers have been formed at Flux. Spouses have been met. New projects hatched.

Flux is a really special series – high quality screening and venue, very engaged creative audience, unique presentations after the show, and the most considerate and supportive programmers around. One of my favorite places to send any project, and the connections I've made at flux have fed into my future projects.

This is our third time showing at Flux and it has always been a huge way to meet people and a joy to show at. Flux is a mainstay of the indie film scene and has been consistently offering this (free) to artists for 15+ years! They're collaborative, encouraging and fueled by a passion for bringing people together and putting on a good show. In short, I recommend it.

A wonderful experience, top to tail. Jonathan and Meg are a dream team. The whole night was welcoming, warm, and not to mention - A PACKED HOUSE, even on a rainy LA night, and that's saying something. Awesome to be featured at the lauded Hammer Museum. A joy to be counted amongst the many talented directors. It's a unique festival that feels like a hybrid showcase for directing talent... and a great DJ/party hang at the Hammer after.

I had the privilege of screening my film at Flux -- it's a singular experience. Not just a screening, but an event that feels exciting. The venue is gorgeous. The audience is thoughtful and passionate. I connected with so many talented people I would want to work with in the future. Highly recommend.
