Flavia Furtado is an afro-descendant Brazilian/Chilean film director and multimedia artist. Selected as Latin American film talent by the Berlinale of the Berlin Film Festival. She has an eclectic career directing and written music videos, documentaries, short films and the feature films "The Seven Mirrors", fiction feature and "Treasures" documentary feature, this film was in theaters in new york for a month with a full audience. She is one of the directors of the collaborative film "Fragmentum Cinema: Dreams", which has toured Latin America being exhibited at Massapê Projetos Sao Paulo, Bogotá Experimental Film Festival, ULTRAcinema Mexico, among others. She has directed short films documentaries about the social revolution in Chile such as "Chile is not alone" and "Hearts united for the revolt” screened at Anthology Film Archives and Experimental Film Society in New York. Director of the documentary series "Urgent Stories" on social issues made by women throughout Chile. She mixes techniques working as a VJ, video mapping artist, DJ and 3D animator. Making expanded cinema works and immersive concerts.
