The Alliance for Downtown New York has opened submissions for our Filmmaker in Chief contest. One short filmmaker will win $50,000, plus a two month stipend and free rent in a luxury apartment hotel in Lower Manhattan. Submit your film treatment and a one-minute video explaining why you should win.
The catch? Your film treatment needs to show how you would include Lower Manhattan as a feature character of your film. This doesn't mean we want a promo video of the neighborhod. We just want you to somehow feature Lower Manhattan in a positive light in an intentional way.

$50,000 plus a $2,000 monthly stipend and two free months rent at Mint House luxury hotel in Lower manhattan. Come to live/film/edit in July and August of 2024.

All entrants must have a valid social security number or a valid U.S. personal tax identification to
participate and the right to work in the United States. Employees, officers and directors of the
Downtown Alliance, Mint House, Inc., and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings,
spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such employees, officers and
directors are not eligible to enter. The Contest is governed by the laws of the State of New York,
U.S.A. The Contest is void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations
apply.
