Film Tottenham carefully selects and screens independent short films once a month.

We have held over 25 short film screenings over 3 years.

We are holding our second Tottenham Film Festival. This will be across 6 categories; drama, comedy, thriller (across crime, experimental and surreal), horror, International and animation.

Our aim is to create a filmmaking hub in Tottenham, London, bringing both filmmakers and film lovers together.

We screen in a cosy pub function room in Tottenham and accept submissions from anywhere in the UK. Our International category is open to anywhere in the world.

We have some incredibly talented judges for our film festival! We look forward to seeing your work!

All films selected will receive our laurels for official selection. We will send this by email after the selection has been decided.
The winner of each category will receive a PDF certificate alongside a winner laurel after the event.
After the event we will provide a physical trophy award to our "Best in Festival".
There will also be an “Audience Choice” award.

Catriona Delbridge

Catriona is a film editor with over 25 years of experience and a deep passion for storytelling. She worked her way up as an assistant on many feature films including working with some of the industries most renowned directors such as Edgar Wright, Danny Boyle, Neil Marshall and Ken Loach. As well as a wide and varied background in drama and documentary, Catriona has spent many years pre selecting and programming on a variety of film festivals and awards including BIFA, London Short Film Festival, Sheffield DocFest, Watersprite Film Festival and many more. She founded and runs a film competition for local children and is currently a member of Bafta Connect.

Gary Johnstone

Gary Johnstone is a BAFTA and Peabody award-winning, Primetime Emmy and Royal Television Society nominated, Producer/Director/Writer with over 80 television credits to his name. He works mainly in Documentary, Specialist Factual Doc/Drama-Doc. His passion is to make well-told stories about amazing characters.

Notable projects include co-directing James Cameron’s Expedition to Bismarck (Nominated for 5 Primetime Emmy’s), Welcome to Earth with Will Smith, J’accuse Citizen Kane (BAFTA winner), Alien Deep (National Geographic and Netflix) and many more!

We want to showcase a variety of films for our audience. This means films from students, first-time filmmakers as well as seasoned filmmakers.

Short films in the drama, horror, thriller, mini-doc and comedy category should be under 16 minutes. Short films in the animation category should be under 10 minutes.

Films must have been released after January 1st 2015.

Any film where English is not the main spoken language should have subtitles in English.

Filmmakers submitting must be 18+ and audience members will also need to be 18+

Maximum of 2 submissions per person.

All film submissions should be made digitally accessible through FilmFreeway and not via hard copy or post.

If you are selected, we will require an mp4 for the screening at no larger than 1.5gb sent to our email address via wetransfer, Google drive or Dropbox within 7 days of notification. We do not accept any other file transfer service. Please also send us a Synopsis for your film along with what certificate you would recommend for your film (e.g 12, 15, 18). This does not have to be an official certificate but just your recommendation as the maker of the work. If selected, you are giving permission for Film Tottenham to screen your film without any charge or fee. Delivery costs (if any) of the screening media must be borne by the applicant or forwarding festival. Screening material will not be returned. We may cancel a selected entry without refund if our rules are not adhered to especially in relation to screening asset deadlines.

Due to the size of our room, we are only able to offer one free pass for one filmmaker per filmmaking team.

We champion accessibility and for films spoken in English we would love you to provide a final film with subtitles if selected, however, this is not mandatory.

Payment is via FilmFreeway.

We may promote filmmakers on our social media channels and website as part of marketing the event. If selected we may ask you for a bio of up to 150 words and a bio photo. We'd love you to take us up on the offer if you choose to.

Time-permitting we may ask you (if you are attending the event) to say a few words about your film to the audience (if you would like to do this).

We are happy for filmmakers to resubmit their film for another one of our events.

We will keep all films, contact details and passwords confidential.

We do not allow any filming at our events but we do allow photography.

By entering your film for consideration, you authorise that your work is cleared for public exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property of the work therein.

Regardless of any prior contact, once you have submitted, if we do not accept your film into our festival then our decision on this is final.
