Film My Design (FMD) is the first and only design-film festival in the MENA region, taking place in Cairo, Egypt. Leveraging Egypt’s strong, long-standing connection to the film world, FMD’s mission centers on telling inspiring, engaging, and thought-provoking design stories using film; the most universal language of visual storytelling.
FMD has held a highly successful 2nd edition from the 27th to the 30th of January 2022. This took place in the heart of downtown Cairo at Zawya Cinema. FMD 2022 hosted over 30 local and international film screenings and conversations on design, architecture and urban life as well as an installation titled “Fragments in Transition,” co-curated and designed by Studio Paradigm. Bridging the worlds of design and film, the FMD 2022 festival brought together creative professionals and enthusiasts from Egypt and beyond.
Building on this success, FMD is preparing for its third round in 2024. Stay tuned for an immersive, and awe-inspiring experience.
