REGULATIONS
XIV Moscow International Film Festival “Let’s Live”
1. Location and Dates
The XIV Moscow International Film Festival "Let's Live" will be held in September 2025 in Moscow. The festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.
2. Goals and Objectives
To present bold, honest, and inspiring films that encourage personal transformation and restore faith in life and in oneself;
To promote motivational films about inner strength, resilience, freedom, and hope;
To expand the audience for films with strong social and emotional messages by providing accessible screenings, engaging in open dialogue, and evaluating social impact;
To support and unite courageous and sincere filmmakers — both emerging and established — for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and educational initiatives;
To foster an international community of creators and viewers who see cinema as a way to inspire, take action, and live life to the fullest.
3. Organizers
The festival is organized by the “Kinematografist” Foundation and the ANO “Center for the Development of Creative Projects”.
The Festival is held with the support of the Department of Culture of the city of Moscow, the Department of Mass Media and Advertising of the city of Moscow, the Moscow City Duma, the Metropolitan Workshop of Cultural Workers, Union of Cinematographers of Russia
President of the Festival: Evgeny Vladimirovich Gerasimov, Chairman of the Moscow City Organization of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and the Culture and Mass Communications Commission of the Moscow City Duma, People's Artist of Russia.
4. Festival Directorate
The organizers appoint the Festival Directorate, which is responsible for:
Forming the Selection Committee;
Organizing screenings, master classes, creative meetings, and round tables;
Managing the advertising campaign;
Inviting and coordinating the Festival Jury;
Preparing informational materials;
Moderating the Festival website.
Festival Director: Dmitry Yakunin, producer and member of the Board of the Foundation for Regional Film Support.
5. Festival Program
5.1. Competition Program
Includes Russian and international films from 2024–2025 that reflect the festival's goals and mission:
Competition Categories:
– Full-length feature film (60+ minutes)
– Feature short film (up to 30 minutes)
– Documentary films (without time limit)
5.2. Out-of-Competition, Educational, and Business Programs
Out-of-competition screenings (animation, short and feature-length films);
Master classes by leading Russian filmmakers;
Educational and industry events.
6. Participation Requirements
6.1. To participate in the selection of Russian-made films, you must submit an application by August 10, 2025 (inclusive) on the platform www.script.moviestart.ru by attaching a closed link to a preview copy of the film (Vimeo, Yandex.disk or Rutube), valid until the end of the festival period.
Acceptance of international/foreign-made film projects is required to fill out a questionnaire on the platform https://filmfreeway.com until August 20th (inclusive).
6.2. Participation in the Project is free for Russian-made films.
Participation in the Project is paid for films of international/foreign production – the participation fee is USD 10.00 and is paid when applying for participation in the Project on the platform. https://filmfreeway.com /.
6.3. If selected, the rights holder must provide (if not already submitted):
Synopsis, promotional and press materials;
Trailer;
Materials for the online catalog (film credits, photos, stills, poster).
6.4. Priority will be given to films that have not been broadcast on television or made publicly available online.
7. Selection and Jury
7.1. Films are selected by curators of the respective programs.
7.2. The screening schedule is determined by the Festival Directorate.
7.3. Films are evaluated by a Jury appointed for each category: feature-length fiction, short fiction, and documentary.
Feature film curator: Dmitry Yakunin, producer;
Short film curator: Yulia Svintsova, screenwriter and director;
Documentary film curator: Vasilisa Yurenkova, director.
8. Technical Requirements
8.1. Screening copies of competition films must be submitted to the Directorate by September 1, 2025:
Feature-length fiction: DCP format;
Short fiction and documentaries: mp4, mov, or avi.
8.2. For encrypted DCP, keys must be provided for the entire festival period.
8.3. The Festival covers transport costs for film delivery to and from Moscow.
8.4. Screening copies must have subtitles:
Original in Russian: English subtitles required;
Original in another language: Russian subtitles required.
8.5. If copies cannot be delivered on time, the Participant must coordinate with the Directorate.
8.6. All deadlines and requirements are mandatory. Failure to comply may result in exclusion from the program.
9. Awards
9.1. The Jury awards:
Grand Prix (Best Film);
Festival President's Award;
Jury Chairperson's Award (feature-length fiction);
Best Director (feature-length fiction);
Best Cinematography (feature-length fiction);
Best Actor (feature-length fiction);
Best Actress (feature-length fiction);
Best Documentary;
Best Short Fiction.
9.2. Additional special awards and diplomas may be presented by Jury members, Moscow departments, and festival partners.
10. Festival Venues
Official screenings take place at designated Festival venues.
The program and screening order are determined by the Directorate.
11. Final Provisions
Organizers guarantee that films will not be used or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.
Organizers reserve the right to use photos and clips (up to 3 minutes) in media publications about the festival.
Recordings of business and educational events may be used to promote the festival online and in media.
Participation in the Festival constitutes acceptance of these Regulations. In case of disputes, the Russian version of the Regulations will prevail.
The Directorate reserves the right not to explain the reasons for excluding a film from the program.
Organizers reserve the right to amend the Festival's rules during the preparation period.
Оrganizers do not bear the costs associated with the flight, accommodation, and meals of the participants.
