The Institute for Applied Creativity (IAC) at Texas A&M University proudly announces the call for submissions for the inaugural Field of View: 360 Video Festival. This pioneering event invites artists, creative minds, and technologists to explore the transformative potential of 360-degree video technology with a focus on immersive storytelling.

Eligibility:
To qualify for submission to the Field of View: 360 Video Festival, your work must be compatible with standard 360-degree video players, ensuring it can be viewed seamlessly in conventional VR and 360 video playback environments. Eligible works include, but are not limited to:

• 360° Immersive Video: Fully immersive video content that allows viewers to explore the scene from every angle.
• VR Animation: Animated 2D/3D content specifically designed for 360-degree viewing, offering a unique, all-encompassing visual experience.
• Recorded VR Experiences: High-resolution virtual reality experiences captured and presented in a 360-degree video format, enabling viewers to relive the VR experience.
• 360° Motion Graphics: Dynamic visual content designed for 360-degree viewing, incorporating animated 2D/3D graphic elements.
• 360° VR Screendance works (choreographic works designed specifically for 360 viewing).

All submissions must be original and comply with copyright regulations.

There will be five awards.

Best 360 Video in Narrative ($500)
Best 360 Video in Documentary ($500)
Best 360 Video in Experimental ($500)
Best 360 Video in Education and Research ($500)
Best 360 VR Screendance ($500)
Best 360 Student Work ($500)

Terms And Conditions

By submitting, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Screening agreement: If selected as a finalist, you consent to have your film screened at the Igloo Studio at Texas A&M University and a VR space during the Field of View: 360 Video Festival.

Promotional rights: By submitting, you grant the Field of View: 360 Video Festival the right to use an excerpt from your video for promotional purposes if your video is accepted for screening at the festival.

Indemnification: By submitting, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Field of View: 360 Video Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages and expenses (including, but not limited to, attorney’s fees and court costs) arising from any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the submitted screening videos.

Selection Process
The Selection Committee comprises a diverse group of directors, producers and artists. This committee is responsible for evaluating and selecting videos across all submission categories. Every video that meets the submission criteria is thoroughly reviewed and judged by the committee. Applicants will be notified of their video’s selection status by the posted date, with notifications sent via email.

Festival And Films Promotion
Rights holders grant the Field of View: 360 Video Festival the right to reproduce excerpts of their films for promotional purposes without compensation. These excerpts will be limited to 10 percent of the film’s duration and will not exceed 1 minute. Additionally, stills, posters, synopses and other related texts may be used for promotional purposes across various media platforms, including press and the Internet. Producers also guarantee that they possess the legal authority to grant these rights and have cleared all necessary rights related to the films, including, but not limited to, music rights.

Archive
By submitting your video, you accept that Field of View: 360 Video Festival may also use the videos for its educational, promotional and noncommercial activities. Videos archived will never be shown or released by Field of View: 360 Video Festival in full online without the direct consent of its owners. After the screening, we will delete all films from the online platform.

Submitting a video to the Field of View: 360 Video Festival implies the full acceptance of these terms and conditions.
