MixBrasil Festival has been the largest LGBTQIA+ cultural festival in Latin America since 1993 and is one of the most exciting places to screen your work and connect with an audience that truly celebrates diversity, creativity, and bold storytelling. At MixBrasil, we’re enthusiastically open to exploring the ever-evolving meanings behind the ‘+’ in LGBTQIA+.
MixBrasil is a 12-day cultural takeover of São Paulo. Expect legendary parties, industry panels, XR exhibitions, performances, public debates, and an incredibly engaged audience. From provocative cinema to boundary-pushing immersive experiences, MixBrasil is where the queer avant-garde meets public celebration.
We bring together filmmakers, artists, thinkers, and change-makers from Brazil and around the world. Want to discuss your film over caipirinhas on a rooftop after your Q&A? We’ve got you. Thinking of premiering your VR piece for a crowd that lives for innovation? This is the place.
Last year, we hosted over 38,000 visitors in 11 venues around São Paulo and São Carlos.

No ano passado, recebemos mais de 38.000 visitantes em 11 espaços culturais em São Paulo e São Carlos.

At Festival MixBrasil, we celebrate bold storytelling with a full set of jury and audience awards. The highlight of our awards are the Silver and Golden Rabbits given by our jury to outstanding works in the International Feature Film and XR Experience competitions — Brazilian Short Film and Brazilian Feature Film Rabbits are accompanied by a cash award.

Our International Feature Competition includes a Jury Award and Audience Award for Best Film.
We also offer Audience Awards in multiple categories:

Best Brazilian Feature Film
Best International Feature Film
In addition, Brazilian productions are eligible for jury prizes in Best Direction, Best Screenplay, and Best Performance.

By submitting your film or project, you agree to the following terms:

. Films must address LGBTQIA+ themes or be directed by LGBTQIA+ filmmakers, completed after January 1, 2025. At MixBrasil, we’re enthusiastically open to exploring the ever-evolving meanings behind the ‘+’ in LGBTQIA+.

. Films and XR experiences must be submitted through our official online platform with a secure preview link.

. Films and XR experiences must be São Paulo premieres.

. If selected, accepted screening formats include DCP and high-quality digital files (MP4, H.264)

. Entrants confirm they have all necessary rights for exhibition and promotional use.

. The Festival is authorized to use excerpts, images, and promotional materials related to selected works.

. Selected films will not receive screening fees unless otherwise explicitly agreed.

. The Festival’s programming committee makes final selection decisions.

. Selected entrants will be notified by email.

. Excerpts and pictures of selected films and XR experiences may be included in promotional and press materials or public activities directly related to the Festival.

Submission implies full acceptance of these rules and conditions.

Ao inscrever seu filme ou projeto, você concorda com os seguintes termos:

. Os filmes devem abordar temáticas LGBTQIA+ ou ser dirigidos por cineastas LGBTQIA+, concluídos após 1º de janeiro de 2025. No MixBrasil estamos especialmente abertos a explorar os significados sempre em evolução do “+” em LGBTQIA+.

. Os filmes e experiências XR devem ser inscritos por meio da nossa plataforma oficial online, com link seguro para visualização.

. Caso selecionados, os formatos de exibição aceitos são DCP ou arquivos digitais em alta qualidade (MP4, H.264).

. Trabalhos inscritos confirmam possuir todos os direitos necessários para exibição e uso promocional. O Festival fica autorizado a utilizar trechos, imagens e materiais promocionais relacionados às obras selecionadas.

. Filmes selecionados não receberão pagamento pela exibição, salvo acordo explícito em contrário.

. O comitê de programação do Festival é responsável pelas decisões finais sobre a seleção.

. Os trabalhos inscritos selecionados serão notificados por e-mail.

. Trechos e imagens dos filmes selecionados poderão ser utilizados em materiais promocionais e de imprensa, ou em atividades públicas diretamente relacionadas ao Festival.

. A inscrição implica na aceitação integral destas regras e condições.

The screenings are incredible, and the festival offers an experience that goes beyond cinema, integrating other arts such as literature, visual arts, and theater.
