The Festival of the Moving Image (FOMI) is University College London's (UCL) esteemed student film festival, organized by the UCL Film & TV Society. Established in 2007, FOMI has a rich history of promoting emerging student filmmakers, emphasising creativity and innovation in the cinematic arts.

FOMI serves as a platform for students to showcase their work, forge new connections, and foster a love for independent film within the student body and the broader London public.

This year FOMI celebrates its 18th edition from May 19th to 23rd at the Bloomsbury Theatre and Studio. The festival's theme this year is "Recollection" and offers a diverse program that includes:

- Panel Discussions: Engaging conversations with filmmakers and industry professionals on topics such as environmental activism in documentary filmmaking.

- Student Short Film Competitions: Screenings of selected films from a large pool of submissions, highlighting the talents of student filmmakers worldwide.

-Script Writing Competitions: This year’s festival will feature an exciting scriptwriting competition, inviting storytellers to craft compelling narratives that reflect the theme of "Recollection." Winning scripts will be brought to life in a live table read, where actors will perform them in front of an audience, offering a unique opportunity for writers to see their work interpreted and explored in real-time.

- Awards Ceremonies: Recognition of outstanding student films, with external industry organisations and companies sponsoring awards (Previous years had Letterboxd and MUBI)
