International Festival of Film for Children and Youth of Sousse (FIFEJ). Created in 1991, FIFEJ has established itself as an essential annual film event, dedicated to young audiences and the promotion of film culture. This event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the National Center of Cinema and Image (CNCI), in partnership with the Municipality of Sousse.

Article 1

The International Children’s and Youth Film Festival (FIFEJ) is an annual event dedicated to presenting films to the general public and organizing meetings between audiences and filmmakers, including authors, directors, producers, distributors, technicians, performers, and other cinema professionals. The main objective of the festival is to showcase and promote national and international cinematographies that address themes related to childhood and youth.

Article 2

The International Festival of Film for Children and Youth Association (FIFEJ), with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the National Center for Cinema and Image (CNCI), is organizing the 15th edition of the International Children’s and Youth Film Festival (FIFEJ), which will take place in Sousse from April 6 to April 11, 2026.

The FIFEJ editions are directed and managed as follows:

A Festival Director, who defines the general orientations of the festival and ensures its organization through an Organizing Committee under their responsibility.

A Board Committee, composed of members of the International Festival of Film for Children and Youth Association (FIFEJ).

An Executive Committee, appointed by the Festival Director and responsible for the artistic, technical, and logistical organization of the festival.

A Support Committee, composed of representatives from ministries and partner institutions involved in the organization of FIFEJ.

Article 3

Films participating in the FIFEJ Official Competition sections, excluding parallel sections and special screenings, must have been completed after the closing date of registration for the previous edition.

Any film selected and included in the official program of FIFEJ:

may not be withdrawn by the director or producer, either before or after its screening;

may be screened a maximum of two (2) times during the festival.

Article 4

The FIFEJ is open to feature films, short films, animated films, and documentaries, whether short or long in length.

The official program of FIFEJ includes the following sections:

OFFICIAL COMPETITION – FEATURE FILMS: Open to feature-length fiction, documentary, or animated films addressing themes related to childhood and youth.

OFFICIAL COMPETITION – SHORT FILMS: Open to professional short fiction, documentary, or animated films addressing themes related to childhood and youth.

CINÉ JEUNESSE: Open to school or amateur short films (fiction, documentary, or animation) made by filmmakers under 30 years old.

CINÉ ENFANCE: Open to short films (fiction, documentary, or animation) created by children.

National Photography Competition: A national photography competition focusing on the theme of children’s rights.

Parallel Sections (Homages, Special Screenings, and Others): Open to feature and short films of all genres (fiction, documentary, animation).

Article 5

The selection of films for all sections is the exclusive responsibility of the FIFEJ Management, which reserves the sole right to determine the number of feature and short films selected for each section, after viewing digital screening links or DVD copies.

Article 6

To be eligible for the Official Competition, all films must have been produced after April 11, 2023.

Each country may submit a maximum of:

two (2) feature films, and

two (2) short films
for each Official Competition section.

Article 7

An official list of awards will be established and announced by an international jury of five (5) members, appointed by the FIFEJ Management, for the Official Competition (feature and short films).

An official list of awards will also be established by an international jury of three (3) to five (5) members, appointed by the FIFEJ Management, for the CINÉ JEUNESSE and CINÉ ENFANCE sections.

Article 8

The official awards will cover the Official Competition sections for feature films and short films in the categories of fiction, animation, and documentary, as determined by the respective juries.

Article 9

The deadline for submitting films to the competition is set for March 15, 2026 (inclusive).
The deadline for submitting photographs to the National Photography Competition is set for March 30, 2026 (inclusive).

Article 10

A screening copy of the selected films must reach the headquarters of the FIFEJ Board Committee no later than March 30, 2026 (inclusive), at the following address:
