El Festival Internacional de Cine sobre Derechos Humanos de Guadalajara, es un evento que busca concentrar obras cinematográficas, cortometrajes y largometrajes que aborden temas relacionados con los derechos humanos y la trata de personas. Estos temas se deberán ver reflejados en sus tramas y narrativas a fin de que aporten perspectivas valiosas y relevantes al público, generando además un espacio para el conocimiento, reflexión y consciencia en las personas.

Es muy importante para nosotros, que en el estado de Jalisco se realice la difusión de obras cinematográficas con relevancia y aporte social, de ahí que este festival nos permite ver con nuestros propios ojos, las distintas maneras en las que se vulneran los derechos humanos y las formas en las que un conjunto de delitos converge en el fenómeno de la trata de personas.

The International Human Rights Film Festival of Guadalajara is an event that seeks to concentrate cinematographic works, short films and feature films that address issues related to human rights and human trafficking. These themes must be reflected in the plots and narratives to provide valuable and relevant perspectives to the public, generating a space for knowledge, reflection and awareness in people.

It is important for us that cinematographic works with social relevance get to be shared in the state of Jalisco, to give a unique and special space for dialogue, which allows us to see with our own eyes, the different ways in which human rights are violated and the ways in which a set of crimes converge in the phenomenon of human trafficking.

Festival dates: Join us for our 2nd edition on September 24th to 27th, 2026. (Dates may change; if this happens, participants will be notified in advance)

IMPORTANT: This festival is part of Fin de la Esclavitud AC, an organization dedicated to informing, preventing, and providing training people about human trafficking and the various forms of slavery that exist in our century, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Awards & Prizes

El festival es competitivo, se premiará a un ganador por categoría y una mención honorífica, además se les otorgará un diploma y el reconocimiento físico por parte de Fin de la Esclavitud AC a las personas autoras asistentes al festival.

The festival is competitive, with one winner per category and an honorable mention. Authors attending the festival will also be awarded a diploma and physical recognition from Fin de la Esclavitud AC.

Cómo aplicar a la convocatoria:

Mediante Filmfreeway con un costo de recuperación de 10 USD por entrada. Para producciones estudiantiles el costo será de 5 USD. Estos precios aumentarán únicamente en la última etapa de la convocatoria, siendo de 15 USD para proyectos profesionales y de los mismos 5 USD para proyectos estudiantiles.

13. Acción por el clima: Adoptar medidas urgentes contra el cambio climático.
14. Vida submarina: Conservar y utilizar sosteniblemente los océanos.
15. Vida de ecosistemas terrestres: Gestionar sosteniblemente los bosques y combatir la desertificación.

Géneros a abordar: Derechos humanos, trata de personas y promoción de la paz, a través de las diferentes técnicas:
- Narrativo
- Documental
- Animación

Se admiten proyectos estudiantiles de niveles universitarios y de posgrado.

Duración de las obras:
Cortometrajes >3<30 mins
Largometrajes >30<60 mins

Fecha de producción:
Se permitirán aquellas obras producidas y completadas desde enero 2021, a febrero 2026

Work in progress: No se permitirán obras que aún se encuentren en proceso.

Premiere status: No se requiere que sea un estreno.

Subtitulaje: Las obras en idiomas extranjeros deberán estar acompañadas de subtítulos en español sin excepción.

Importante: La persona que aplique con una obra a la convocatoria, deberá poseer los derechos sobre la misma, esto se deberá hacer constar y confirmar en la carta de autorización proporcionada por la organización del festival. El festival no se hará responsable por el incumplimiento de este lineamiento.

Permisos para proyección después del festival: Si la obra es seleccionada, será presentada únicamente durante las fechas del festival. Sin embargo, es posible que Fin de la Esclavitud AC te pida autorización para proyectarse en otros eventos de la asociación, solamente si tu nos permites. Para esto, se te contactará personalmente. Fin de la esclavitud no hará uso de tu obra sin tu consentimiento previo.

Short films: >3 and <30 minutes
Feature films: >30 and <60 minutes

Production date:
Works produced and completed between January 2021 and February 2026 will be accepted.

Work in progress:
Projects that are still in progress will not be accepted.

Premiere status:
A premiere is not required.

Subtitles:
Works in foreign languages must include Spanish subtitles without exception.

Important:
The person submitting a work must hold the rights to it. This must be confirmed in the authorization letter provided by the festival organization. The festival will not be responsible for any failure to comply with this requirement.

Screening permissions after the festival:
If selected, the work will be screened only during the festival dates. However, Fin de la Esclavitud AC may request your authorization to screen it at other events organized by the association, only with your permission. You will be contacted personally for this. Fin de la Esclavitud AC will not use your work without your prior consent.
