Invitamos a cineastas de todo el mundo a participar en la novena edición del FAUNA Tepoztlán Animal Festival, que se celebrará en marzo de 2026 en la ciudad de Tepoztlán, Morelos, así como en otras sedes aliadas.
La convocatoria está abierta a películas de cualquier duración y estilo—ficción, documental, experimental o animación—siempre que aborden temáticas relacionadas con los animales. Si bien preferimos cortometrajes de hasta 20 minutos, consideramos obras de cualquier longitud que se alineen con la visión del festival.
Nuestro objetivo es ofrecer a las y los amantes de los animales una experiencia compartida que celebre y fortalezca el vínculo entre humanos y animales. Por ello, buscamos películas que promuevan el entendimiento, la empatía y el respeto hacia todos los seres vivos.
La edición 2026 del festival podrá presentarse en formato presencial, virtual o mixto, dependiendo de las circunstancias. Asimismo, su película podría proyectarse en alguna de nuestras sedes colaboradoras fuera de Tepoztlán. Por favor, tenga esto en cuenta al momento de inscribirse.
FAUNA Tepoztlán Animal Festival es un proyecto construido por la comunidad. No aspiramos a replicar los grandes festivales, porque nuestra intención no es la competencia, sino la conexión. Nuestro interés más profundo es llevar un mensaje sincero de amor, respeto y comprensión hacia nuestros hermanos animales. Este festival es, ante todo, una celebración honesta del vínculo humano-animal.
Además, FAUNA es también una forma de retribuir: parte de los donativos recaudados por entradas en cada ciudad se destinarán a refugios locales que trabajan incansablemente por el bienestar animal.

We invite filmmakers from around the world to submit their work to the 9th edition of the FAUNA Tepoztlán Animal Festival, taking place in March 2026 in the city of Tepoztlán, Morelos, and at additional partner venues.
The call is open to films of any length and style—fiction, documentary, experimental, or animation—as long as they explore themes related to animals. While we prefer short films up to 20 minutes in length, we welcome films of any duration that align with the festival’s mission.
Our goal is to provide animal lovers with a shared experience that celebrates and deepens the human-animal connection. We seek films that promote understanding, empathy, and respect for all living beings.
The 2026 edition of the festival may be presented in-person, online, or in a hybrid format, depending on circumstances. Additionally, your film may be screened at one of our partner venues outside Tepoztlán. Please take this into consideration when submitting your work.
FAUNA Tepoztlán Animal Festival is a project built by the community. We do not aim to replicate the structure or scale of other major festivals, because our purpose is not competition but connection. Our deepest intention is to carry a heartfelt message of love, respect, and understanding for our animal brothers and sisters. Above all, this festival is an honest celebration of the human-animal bond.
FAUNA is also a way to give back: part of the donations collected from ticket sales in each city we visit will go directly to local animal shelters working tirelessly for animal welfare.
