Montréal’s first-ever Trans Film Festival will take place across the city and online between 19 – 22 September 2024. EXPOSURES is planned as a multi-year festival by, for and about our Trans* community (Trans, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming, Intersex and Two-Spirit), the first of its kind in Canada in over 20 years!

Our inaugural edition will feature trans film premieres, workshops, parties, and discussion panels, as well as a special screening celebrating the rich history of Quebecois trans film.

Awards & Prizes

The Festival will feature an Audience Prize and A Best Short Film Award.

Unfortunately, as this is our first edition, there will be no cash or in-kind prizes.

Rules & Terms

All films must be written, directed or produced by trans/non-binary/gender non-conforming folks

Preview screeners will be accepted online via FilmFreeway or emailed to iris@exposuresmtl.com. Please make sure that your submission includes the following:

Name of DIRECTOR if different from contact above
Title of film(s)
Running length
Country of origin
Year of completion
Exhibition formats available
A synopsis of your film(s)
5 keywords that best describe your film
Does your film have English Subtitles/Close Captioning for the Deaf and/or Hearing Impaired? If not, will you have a version available by July 15 2024?

Please NOTE:
If your work is accepted, we require your digital exhibition copy to be sent via email or file transfer on or before July 15, 2024. Please make sure to include English Subtitles/Close Captioning. Films without Close Captioning will not be screened.
