Experimental Series - Salt Lake City is an experimental video/film series running out of the Union Theatre at the University of Utah.
EXPS/SLC is hosted through the School of Dance at the University of Utah. Therefore, we encourage especially women, queer, non-binary, and disabled creators whose work is rooted in experimental approaches addressing movement, dance, choreography, and/or the body to apply. Please apply if your film incorporates movement or the body, but would not typically be considered "dance" (ie: "Bridges Go Round" by Shirley Clarke, "Tango" by Zbigniew Rybczyński, "Babash" by Lisa Truttmann, "Birthday Suit With Scars and Defects" by Lisa Steele, etc).
Please note that at this time we do not have access to a 32mm, 16mm, or Super 8 projector, and can only project using a digital projector. We are happy to screen your film as a digitized video. If our equipment access changes, we will update accordingly.
We do not charge submission fees. When you submit a film to the open call, it is automatically considered for both fall and spring dates.
