I grew up in the Greek neighborhoods of Kuşadası and Söke. I studied Restoration and Communication in Turkey, and later pursued Fine Arts in Verona, Italy. During my studies, I started making short films. I directed documentaries on the ancient city of Allianoi, a captive elephant named Pak Bahadur at the İzmir Zoo, and the esteemed historian Muazzez İlmiye Çığ.
As someone whose family was affected by the population exchange, I wrote a play titled “My Home is Your Home”, which was staged in Kuşadası. While continuing to produce short videos on urbanization, I also wrote “The Memory Depot”, a play that was accepted into the Turkish State Theatres archive.
My film “Oda” was created over the course of more than three years. It was a collective project, and throughout the process, I gained invaluable experience.
I’m committed to continuing my journey as an independent filmmaker and playwright, telling stories that matter.
