Exploring true & unconventional love via documentary film and songs of every genre (from comedy to ballad)
Evie Joy is a NYC songwriter/director specializing in love songs of every genre, from comedy to ballad. A 2024 US Keychange artist and a 2020 and 2024 recipient of the New York Women's Fund Grant, Joy was recognized by PopDust for writing "a canticle of female empowerment”. She organized the Official 2025 NYC Womxn's March with co-host Evie Kasper, the Women's March, Rise and Resist, and Gays Against Guns, and is passionate about inspiring women to feel powerful and unburdened by social norms. Her song, "The Right, A Pro-Choice Anthem" has been performed worldwide despite waves of suppression. Her music has been featured in multiple seasons of the television show, “Temptation Island” and her songs have won her the City Artist Corps Grant, a fellowship with Johnny Mercer, and awards in the New England Songwriting Competition, Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, and the Great American Song Contest.
Her current project is “Love. [Nonfiction]”, which started off as
an exploration to find out if true love really exists. Three years later, she has shot 100+ hours of footage investigating the evolution of love and contemporary partnership.
Joy is now convinced that conscious love will save the world.

“Love is not primarily a relationship to a specific person; it is an attitude, an orientation of character which determines the relatedness of a person to the world as a whole, not toward one “object” of love. If a person loves only one other person and is indifferent to the rest of [their] fellow [humanity], [their] love is not love but a symbiotic attachment, or an enlarged egotism. Yet, most people believe that love is constituted by the object, not by the faculty.”
― Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving
