EVAN GOODCHILD is an award-winning director/editor and Webby-nominated podcast/music producer. He won Best Short film for his debut short documentary at The Mad In America International Film Festival. Recently, he directed and edited the short documentaries “Reliquary of Blackness” about the lesser known history of Black Americans in an industrial New England city, and "Art for the People" which focuses on the lasting legacy of the AfriCOBRA artist collective, produced by Mass Humanities and NEPM respectively. "The Painted Life of Gregory Gillespie" is his debut documentary feature that chronicles a beloved and strange 20th century painter whose studio Evan lived in after the artist's untimely death.
Goodchild’s documentaries have appeared on NEPM-TV, at the Boston Globe Black History Film Festival, and are scheduled to play this spring on PBS-Boston WGBH. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Goodchild studied film and audio at Emerson College. He teaches media production at UMass Amherst, and produces podcasts for Yale University and the sustainability organization Commons. He served as lead audio curator and project producer for hitRECord for several years, a media production company founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
