Eva Wilshere is a multi-faceted creative who is transitioning from factual television into fictional storytelling. She delves into her chosen subject and uses a depth of research to evoke entire worlds. Graduating with a distinction in her scriptwriting MA at Falmouth University, Eva has turned her multi-award winning script The Year Dot, into a short film. She is also currently writing a pilot for a comedy half hour and pitching The Divergents, a drama/sci-fi television series about neuro-diversity.
The Year Dot’s awards gave Eva the chance to work with Ben Pohlman from Pinewoods Studios. It also won the Birmingham Film & Television Festival, WRPN.tv Screenplay Competition and prestigious Watersprite Festival from Cambridge University, amongst others.
Eva has worked in the East Sussex media scene for over a decade. She wrote, produced and directed her first short film Local Girl in 2014 (winner of multiple awards, including Best Director at Dreamz Catcher Film Festival) with help from Katherine Shannon as assistant director. Eva performed the same role on Daniel Grasskamp’s first feature film Cat Skin.
Eva loves to write science-fiction and dark comedy, but has always been politically minded and uses her creativity to promote social causes. Eva’s full-length documentary Homeless By-The-Sea was appreciated so much by Bill Smith at Latest TV that she was offered her own talk show Eva’s World.
Eva is passionate about telling stories featuring relatable, quirky and diverse characters. She wants her work to help others relate to life in a way that television has helped her.
