The Eugene Phunny Philm Phestival will be a Pacific Northwest regional comedy short film festival to take place in Eugene, Oregon. Its mission is to create a fun laugh-filled weekend, to inspire individuals to produce comedy, and to recognize comedic filmmakers. It also strives to connect filmmakers in order to build relationships and foster future collaborations; there will be plenty of opportunities to socialize. (FYI: every filmmaker who submits a film will be eligible for a free 3-day festival pass, regardless if their film is selected or not). Finally, this festival seeks to assist in the development of Eugene's blossoming filmmaking community. We're actors and independent filmmakers; we'd love to connect with more people making funny films. Find us on Facebook and YouTube by searching "Lane County Filmmakers".

Funniest of Each Category: $320.22
2nd Funniest of Each Category: $202.20
Funniest Moment from a Film: $120.22
For the "Prop and Line o' Dialogue" category, there will be two $72.02 awards for best use of the prop and for the best inclusion of the line of dialogue.

We welcome submissions from residents of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and British Columbia. Films can be up to 12 minutes long. There will be four categories: "That Pacific Northwest Life", "Prop & Line o' Dialogue", "Youth", and "Everything Else." If there aren't enough submissions in any one of the categories, those films will be entered into the "Everything Else" category. Films will be scored by judges. The scoring system will include scores (1-10) for the: 1) premise, 2) funniest moment, 3) execution, and 4) amount of comedy throughout. Each judge will average his or her scores to create an individual judge score. The overall score will be the average score from all of the individual judge scores.
Individuals involved with organizing and/or hosting the festival (and their family members) will be not eligible for awards. While production value isn't included in scoring, the audio and visual quality must be considered satisfactory in order to be selected for the festival.

Acceptable file formats:
MP4 or MOV files are fine for submission, or you can include a YouTube or Vimeo link. If your film is selected for the festival, it is recommended to submit it as a Digital Cinema Package (DCP) file (2K or 4K), but it isn't required. 1080p is acceptable. All files need to be 23.98 or 24 fps.

Note: There needs to be a sufficient amount of submissions in each category in order for that category to be worthwhile. Therefore, if there aren't at least eight acceptable submissions for a category, that category will be eliminated, and any films submitted for that category will be moved to the "Everything Else" category. If we don't have sufficient submissions to make the festival worthwhile, the festival will be cancelled.
