Emily Wilson is a queer filmmaker, screenwriter, and director whose passion lies in crafting stories and characters with intricate detail. Her work mostly revolves around coming-of-age, romance, and humor, often with fantastical elements mixed in. She often utilizes experimental techniques to elevate her craft and enhance her storytelling. Her main influences come from her life experience, being born and raised in the Midwest, which is were most of her stories take place.
Emily began her filmmaking career in high school, mostly making horror and comedy short films as a solo filmmaker and in collaboration with her school's film club. She has also had her work premiere at Cleveland's Short. Sweet. Film Festival in 2021, 2023, and 2024 as well as The Ohio State University's Mad Royal Film Festival in 2024. As of April 2026, Emily has completed her senior thesis film, "aqua escapism: true blue."
