Emīls Alps is a young filmmaker from Latvia. While growing up, Emīls attended a music school, which left a significant impact on his artistic style and vision. From a young age to this day he has been singing in choirs and smaller ensembles. During his high school years, Emīls took a great interest in filmmaking, creating his first award-winning short film "Boxhead". After graduating, at the age of 20 Emīls almost single-handedly created his first feature length film "Choir. Conductor. Kamēr...". It started out as an experiment in the documentary genre, taking an example from his earlier short documentary "Es celšos (I Will Rise)".
