“If you can make it complicated, why make it simple?” — Raúl Ruiz
An alumni of University of Arts London, Emilija has worked along with some of the biggest Film and Advertisement companies in Europe. After five years of work experience in the United Kingdom, together with the company ACME FILM, she opened a film production department and became its managing director for the Baltic countries. In 2019 Emilija founded AUSTRÈ STUDIO - a company that focuses on feature film production to develop the voices of a new generation of writers and directors, with a particular focus on genre films and post-national story telling. The films produced by Emilija were screened in both national and world A-class festivals. In 2022 she was awarded the Producer's Network award of the Cannes Film Festival for pioneering new sustainable production solutions in her home country Lithuania. Her latest film ‘Pensive’, has premiered at the 26th Tallinn Black Nights film festival, 40th Torino film festival, and was sold to many territories, including theatrical distribution in Brazil and Mexico, which will make it one of few films coming from the Baltic region to ever reach the screens of Latin America. Emilija served as a member of the jury of the National Film Awards Committee (Silver Crane) in 2024.
