Emerson Tenney (she, her, hers) is a filmmaker dedicated to telling stories with protagonists who not only believe in their dreams, but who have the courage to step up and do something to make those dreams come true. She received her B.A. in Literary Arts from Brown University in 2020. While completing her studies, Emerson worked as a kindergarten teacher at a local Providence charter school. It was there that she discovered the unique power held in the intersection of image-driven storytelling and family-accessible narratives. This intersection lends itself uniquely to the medium of animation. And that's lucky, because animation is Emerson's second greatest passion. The first, of course, is her cat Socks. Emerson and Socks currently live in Los Angeles, California where they keep each other company while Emerson writes the next animated feature for Toei Animation. Emerson holds fast to her belief that film’s ability to make life’s most difficult questions universally accessible will be what saves the world.
