Elisabeth Brun (b. 1977 in Northern Norway) is a filmmaker and researcher, working in the intersection between documentary, philosophy and visual art. She holds a PhD in media studies from the University of Oslo, and has a background as a documentary film director in Norwegian public service broadcasting (NRK 2001-2014)
Brun has written, photographed and directed the experimental short 3xShapes of Home (2020), for which she was awarded King´s College´s Ivan Juritz Prize for Creative Experiment 2020. 3xShapes of Home has screened at International festivals such as the 67th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, 50th Festival du Nouveaux Cinéma Montreal and 18th Vienna Shorts, and has collected awards and mentions.
Several of her TV-productions has been sold to other European broadcasters such as Itialian RAI, Irish RTÈ, Polish TVN and Spanish RTVE.
Her current artistic work and research gravitates towards questions of form, of materiality, of the relation between human/environment, and the way architecture and topography may challenge how environments are perceived and understood.
