Elisabeth Brun (b. 1977, Northern Norway) is an Oslo-based filmmaker, media artist, and researcher working across documentary, environmental humanities, and the visual arts. After more than a decade directing documentaries for Norwegian public broadcaster NRK (2001–2014), she has in recent years emerged with an independent essay film and visual arts practice. She holds a PhD in Media Studies from the University of Oslo and a Post-Master in Public Art from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
Her experimental short 3xShapes of Home (2020) received the Ivan Juritz Prize for Creative Experiment (King’s College London) and was nominated for Best Video Essay by Sight & Sound. It has screened at Oberhausen, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma Montreal, Vienna Shorts, and other international festivals.
Brun’s current work explores how technology reshapes experience, memory, and our relation to place, often drawing on her origins in Northern Norway and the sub-Arctic.
