Elika Rezaee is an Iranian-American film editor and filmmaker with over two decades of experience shaping narrative and documentary work across independent features, shorts, and long-form projects. Her work is grounded in character-driven storytelling, emotional precision, and strong structural instincts developed through years of close collaboration with directors.

As an editor, Elika has worked on award-winning films that have screened internationally, including Shayda, which won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to receive multiple international honors. Her editorial work spans both narrative and documentary filmmaking, with a focus on stories that explore identity, displacement, family, and cultural memory. In addition to editing, she has served as a post supervisor and story editor, bridging creative and logistical needs while guiding projects through completion.

Elika is a Fellow of the Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellowship, a program that recognizes editors whose work reflects emotional clarity, editorial sensitivity, and a director-centered approach to storytelling. She is also a recipient of an ISF grant for her short film script Balcony, supporting the development of the project.

Alongside her editing career, Elika is an active filmmaker who has written and directed multiple short films screening at national and international festivals. Her directing work draws from cross-cultural and intergenerational experiences, often using humor, restraint, and visual storytelling to explore human connection across divides.

Elika approaches filmmaking with a practical, production-aware mindset shaped by her editorial background. She favors contained stories that prioritize performance, rhythm, and visual metaphor, and she writes with post-production and festival presentation in mind. She is based in Los Angeles and continues to develop narrative short and feature projects while working as an editor on independent films and series.
