Elie Mulap is a young filmmaker and visual storyteller from the Democratic Republic
of Congo. From childhood, he naturally carried the energy of a filmmaker, long
before he even knew film schools existed. Due to the lack of film schools in his
country, Elie pursued a three-year bachelor’s degree in computer science in 2018.
After completing his studies in 2021, he realised something was still missing. In
2023, he convinced his parents to let him move to South Africa because, according
to his research, it was the only place in Africa that could offer what he was truly
looking for. In 2024, he discovered his dream school: SAE Institute in Cape Town.
