Elda Sorra is a german filmmaker who was born 1978 in Tirana (Albania) and raised in Lemgo (Germany). In 1990 she and her family fled to the German Embassy in Tirana. That way they could reach Germany.
She completed her training as an actress at the "Arturo Acting School" in Cologne from 2000 to 2004. Afterwards she was to be seen on various theatre stages, as well as in different film, cinema and TV productions. In addition, she realized her own artistic projects.
She has lived in Berlin since 2007. There she not only worked as an actress but also as an assistant director. 2017 she wrote and directed her first self-produced short film "Pamçka". The film had its premiere at the 64th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
“Of Cats and Daughters” is Sorra’s second short film, which was filmed in Albania.
