Efren II (he/him) - is a queer Latino screenwriter and director from El Paso, Texas, currently based in Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where he wrote and directed his thesis short film, Second Coming. Efren has worked across independent features as well as major productions, including A24's Causeway, Netflix's Bad Thoughts, and NBC's Queer as Folk. His work draws from lived experience, focusing on intimate, character driven stories that explore identity and human connection.
